Before Katy Perry was Katy Perry she was just a singer named Katy Hudson trying to be heard. And one of the best ways to do so was to sing backup for Christian metal band P.O.D.
That news isn’t totally revelatory — die-hard Perry fans have circulated the fun fact for years and Perry herself tweeted about P.O.D. over the summer — but videos of Perry singing with the band were unearthed again Wednesday.
Perry sang on the 2006 track, “Goodbye For Now,” and can even be spotted in the background of P.O.D.’s performance on the Tonight Show and the music video.
Find Perry around the 3:10 mark.
