A wedding between two paramedics in Tennessee took an alarming turn when their family members got in a car crash on the way to their wedding reception.

Shortly after Sarah Ray married a fellow paramedic at a church in Clarksville, she got a call about a car accident involving her father and her grandparents from Indiana, Nashville’s NewsChannel 5 recently reported. She raced to the scene to check on them after a driver ran a red light and crashed into them, leaving her grandma with bumps and bruises. Her mother, Marcy Martin, snapped the photo below of her daughter at the scene in one of the most memorable wedding photos of the day:

As NewsChannel 5 talked about how brave Ray was, the bride stayed modest, merely saying, “I don’t know if what I did was special but I was in a wedding dress.”
