Every day is the perfect day to honor Mean Girls, but over the past few years, October 3rd has become an extra-special day for die-hard fans. The unofficial National Mean Girls Day comes from a brief scene in the movie when things really start to heat up between Cady and her love interest, Aaron Samuels. (He asks her what day it is, and she replies, “It’s October 3rd.”)
Last year, we suggested 19 ways to commemorate this important holiday. This year, we’ve got a more tangible idea: eat some Kalteen Bars. To honor the holiday, Dylan’s Candy bar debuted a line of Mean Girls-themed treats, and that includes a real version of the Kalteen bar. As you may recall, Kalteen bars were “these weird nutrition bars” Cady used to sabotage Regina George:
Dylan’s version is a crispy peanut butter bar, and probably more delicious than the fictional version from the movie. Other available items include a Burn Book cookie and “You Go Glen Coco” pink hot chocolate. If you’re avoiding sweets because you’re trying to lose three pounds, there are also some non-edible accessories, like a “Get in Loser, We’re Going Shopping” tote bag. (All items are available for purchase online.)
If you’re now in the mood to purchase even more Mean Girls stuff, we recommend looking around on Etsy, where you’ll find all kinds of greatness. For example, if you’re a cool mom (not like a regular mom), check out this “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink” onesie. Or, if you’re just looking for a little boost of confidence, try this mug.
