Justin Timberlake joined Jimmy Fallon for another installment of The History of Rap on The Tonight Show on Wednesday.
The pair started strong with R. Kelly’s and Jay Z’s hit “Fiesta” and went straight into LL Cool J’s “Rock the Bells.” Visiting some classics of the genre, Fallon did a convincing impersonation of Slick Rick’s yawn rhymes in “La Di Da Di” and went all out for “Straight Outta Compton” by N.W.A. Newer acts were welcomed, too, as Timberlake covered “My Way” by Fetty Wap and Fallon dug deep for “Bugatti” by Ace Hood.
The energetic performance was the sixth volume of the duo’s rap anthology, as Fallon brings out the big guns to compete with Stephen Colbert as host of the newly revamped The Late Show.
