Disney does not yet have sequel plans for Inside Out but fans of the blockbuster animated film don’t have to wait all that long to see the further adventures of young Riley, the film’s human protagonist. Pixar will release the animated short Riley’s First Date as part of the forthcoming Inside Out digitial release (and also its Blu-ray package), and a first clip from the film has arrived online.
Remember the young boy at the end of Inside Out, the one whose emotions – Fear, Sadness, Joy, Anger, Disgust – go bananas after Riley talks to him? He’s back, and ready to take the 12-year-old on a date. Which, surprise, doesn’t go over too well with Riley’s parents, voiced by Kyle MacLachlan and Diane Lane.
Watch the very funny first look at Riley’s First Date below. The digital version of Inside Out, which will include the short, is out on Oct. 13.
