Drake released “Charged Up” on Saturday night, a response to Meek Mill’s claims earlier in the week that the Toronto rapper didn’t write his own rhymes. So what did Mill think of the song?
“Baby lotion soft,” he wrote on Twitter shortly after “Charged Up” came online. He later added, “I can tell he wrote that 1 tho.”
The beef between Drake and Mill started on Tuesday, when Mill wrote on Twitter that Drake didn’t write his own lyrics.
“Stop comparing Drake to me too,” Mill wrote. “He don’t write his own raps! That’s why he ain’t tweet my album because we found out!”
On Saturday, Drake dropped “Charged Up,” his first public retort to Mill’s claims.
“I did some charity today for the kids/ But I’m used to it cause y’all charity cases,” Drake rapped on the song. “All y’all stare in my face and hope you could be to replace me / Snitchin’ on us without no interrogation / I stay silent ‘cause we at war and I’m very patient. Six God is watching, I’m just hoping you prepared to face him.”
The song later includes the lyric, “I’m done doing favors for people. Because it ain’t like I need the money I make off a feature.” Drake appeared on Mill’s track “R.I.C.O.”
