Azealia Banks had one of the most celebrated albums of 2014, Broke With Expensive Taste, and released huge music videos this year for songs like “Ice Princess” and “Yung Rapunxel.” But when MTV announced its VMA nominations, she was left off the list. Banks has a theory why:
Banks has never been one to bite her tongue, and was critical of last year’s Grammys, tweeting that Lana Del Rey’s Ultraviolence should have won Best Rock Album, and mocking Iggy Azalea after she walked away empty-handed.
