Birdman director Alejandro González Iñárritu is back with a new movie, The Revanant, and it looks epic.
Leonardo DiCaprio stars as an explorer left for dead by his companions after a bear attack. The screenplay, co-written by Iñárritu and Mark L. Smith and based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Michael Punke, tells the story of the revenge he subsequently seeks. The trailer comes complete with those drum beats we came to love in Birdman.
The Revenant will hit theaters on Christmas Day 2015, in time for Iñárritu, DiCaprio and co-star Tom Hardy to try to land their names on Oscar ballots.
