That’s one life down and eight to go for a stray kitten that burrowed its way into a car engine, survived a freeway collision and emerged from the wreckage unscathed.
A Little Rock, Ark. driver was being treated for injuries after the crash when emergency responders heard a mewing sound coming from the crumpled car, local outlet Arkansas Online reports. The crews were stunned to find under the hood a stray orange tabby kitten, uninjured and surprisingly sociable.
“It was fed and watered and oohed and aahed over,” local emergency worker Greg Thompson told Arkansas Online. The driver, instantly smitten, adopted the scrappy stray on the spot and named her Hallelujah.
