The film will be called… _Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2_. Gunn, who has been hard at work on the film’s script, made the title official on his [Twitter](https://twitter.com/JamesGunn/status/615597623135735808) and [Facebook pages](https://www.facebook.com/jgunn/photos/a.216126946156.142629.48103536156/10152777768886157/?type=1&comment%5Fid=10152777787116157¬if%5Ft=like) after Marvel’s Kevin Feige let the title slip while discussing _Ant-Man_ with [_Collider_](http://collider.com/guardians-of-the-galaxy-2-title-revealed/). > [](https://twitter.com/JamesGunn/status/615597623135735808) “Kevin Feige recently let the title slip while doing _Ant-Man_ press, which I’m really happy about because God knows I’ve let more than one thing slip accidentally while chattering away on this FB page,” Gunn joked on his Facebook page. The title is a riff on the _Awesome Mix Vol. 1_ Peter Quill listens to in the first film. The film’s soundtrack was key to the experience of making the film and the final product. And with this title, it looks like it’s a safe bet that the _Awesome Mix Vol. 2,_ whatever may appear on it, will likely be just as integral to the sequel.
