This Cincinnati Suburb Has a Smelly Cat Problem

1 minute read

There’s a crappy situation in the Cincinnati area.

Bodily waste from feral cats is stinking up the village of St. Bernard, residents say. A house taken over by 20 such felines has been condemned by the Hamilton County Public Health, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer.

Councilwoman Diana Schildmeyer recently said that the “stench from the cat urine and feces is so bad” that some residents cannot leave their houses or open their windows, the newspaper reports.

While some city officials propose euthanizing the cats, animal rights groups like the Ohio Alleycat Resource say neutering and spaying the animals will be enough to improve their behavior, the newspaper reports. St. Bernard’s Laws, Contracts & Claims Committee will hold a meeting this week to discuss the issue further.

No word whether Lisa Kudrow has any plans to visit the area and perform “Smelly Cat,” the hilariously bad song her character performs on Friends.
