Known for his role in [Joe Dante](http://www.ew.com/article/2015/06/16/joe-dante-burying-ex-zombies "undefined")’s _The ‘Burbs_, Ducommun died on June 12 at a Vancouver hospital after [suffering from complications due to diabetes](http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/rick-ducommun-dead-burbs-actor-803390?utm%5Fsource=twitter "undefined"). Ducommun appeared in _Die Hard_,_Groundhog Day_ and _Scream_, and had small roles in _The Last Boy Scout, Spaceballs_ and _Gremlins 2: The New Batch –_ the latter as a favor to Dante.
