The news was officially announced on Wednesday’s show that the former _Cosby Show_ star, who has served as a guest co-host 37 times, will join panelists [Whoopi Goldberg](http://www.people.com/people/news/category/0,,personsTax:WhoopiGoldberg,00.html), [Nicolle Wallace](http://www.people.com/article/nicolle-wallace-the-view-drama) and [Rosie Perez](http://www.people.com/people/news/category/0,,personsTax:RosiePerez,00.html) effective immediately.
