To mark the occasion [Screen Junkies](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOpcACMWblDls9Z6GERVi1A) are taking fans down memory lane for a frank look at one of the franchise’s less successful installments — _The Lost World: Jurassic Park,_ the 1997 sequel to _Jurassic Park_ that both critics and fans agreed fell far short of Steven Spielberg’s original. The new Honest Trailer, at bottom, starts with the film’s name (“Shouldn’t that title be the other way around? No? Okay.”) and gets more, well, honest from there. According the new trailer, “the unnecessary sequel” features “more deaths, more dangling vehicles, and more giant, practical T. Rex heads passing next to things.” The Honest Trailer finds plenty of flaws to point out in the film, including the strange loss of charisma by Jeff Goldblum’s character, Julianne Moore’s scientist who is dubbed “The Worst” and the overall dullness of the “generic run-away-from-dinosaurs movie.” Ultimately, the trailer asks the important question: “Are we supposed to be rooting for the dinosaurs or the people?” Watch it below: ### See Exclusive Art Inspired By Jurassic Park Stan and Vince Franesco Francavilla Dan McCarthy Kilas Gary Pullin Erica Williams James Flames Arik Roper Nicole Gustafsson Sam Wolfe Connelly Teagan White Rich Kelly [_Listen to the most important stories of the day._](http://time.com/newsletter/the-brief/autoplay/?xid=spl-fullbrief-article) ```json [{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"NewsArticle","@id":"https://time.com/3915788/jurassic-world-honest-trailer-lost-world/","mainEntityOfPage":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://time.com/3915788/jurassic-world-honest-trailer-lost-world/"},"headline":"Before You See Jurassic World Watch The Honest Trailer For The Lost World","datePublished":"2015-06-10T14:22:54.000Z","dateModified":"2026-10-01T09:08:43.770Z","description":"Don't be surprised to root for the dinosaurs","url":"https://time.com/3915788/jurassic-world-honest-trailer-lost-world/","keywords":["Newsfeed","movies","viral","Jurassic World"],"thumbnailUrl":"https://static.time.com/v3/assets/bltea6093859af6183b/bltf907bc83fdab7734/698853e2524fc05871df30aa/screen-shot-2015-06-10-at-15-25-28.png?branch=production&width=1200&quality=75&auto=webp&crop=1200:675&height=675","author":[{"@type":"Person","name":"Melissa Locker","jobTitle":"","url":"https://time.com/author/melissa-locker/"}],"articleSection":"","image":[{"@type":"ImageObject","url":"https://static.time.com/v3/assets/bltea6093859af6183b/bltf907bc83fdab7734/698853e2524fc05871df30aa/screen-shot-2015-06-10-at-15-25-28.png?branch=production&width=1200&quality=75&auto=webp&crop=1200:675&height=675","width":1200,"height":675,"headline":"Screen Shot 2015-06-10 at 15.25.28","caption":"","creditText":"","representativeOfPage":true}],"publisher":{"@type":"Organization","name":"Time","url":"https://time.com/","logo":{"@type":"ImageObject","url":"https://time.com/images/logo.png","width":528,"height":156},"foundingDate":"March 3, 1923","sameAs":["https://www.facebook.com/time","https://www.instagram.com/time/?hl=en","https://twitter.com/time","https://www.pinterest.com/timemagazine"]}},{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"BreadcrumbList","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"item":{"@id":"https://time.com/tag/time-section-newsfeed/","name":"Newsfeed"}},{"@type":"ListItem","position":2,"item":{"@id":"https://time.com/3915788/jurassic-world-honest-trailer-lost-world/","name":"Before You See Jurassic World Watch The Honest Trailer For The Lost World"}}]},{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"VideoObject","name":"Jurassic World Trailer","description":"Jurassic World Trailer","thumbnailUrl":"https://cdn.jwplayer.com/v2/media/WEs5ekqI/poster.jpg?width=720","uploadDate":"2015-05-26T16:04:45.000Z","contentUrl":"https://cdn.jwplayer.com/manifests/WEs5ekqI.m3u8","embedUrl":"https://time.com/3915788/jurassic-world-honest-trailer-lost-world/","duration":"PT2M40S","potentialAction":{"@type":"SeekToAction","target":"https://time.com/3915788/jurassic-world-honest-trailer-lost-world/?jw_start={seek_to_second_number}","startOffset-input":"required name=seek_to_second_number"}}] ```
