Sam Smith can now speak again after throat surgery, and he has rescheduled his canceled April tour of Australia.
Smith had surgery last month after he suffered a hemorrhage in his vocal cords, Billboard reports. He announced the return of his voice Wednesday in a joyful post on Instagram:
The singer will head to Australia in November and December to make up for the April shows he had to cancel for the surgery, beginning with a show at Perth Arena on November 28.
“I’m unbelievably excited to get back onstage and perform for you all again, and I promise it will be so much better than it would have been before when my voice was damaged,” Smith said in a statement. “The past few months have been incredibly difficult, but the support, love and patience my fans have shown me is absolutely unreal. I am so grateful to every one of you. I can’t wait to see you all.”
