While performing at a free outdoor concert in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, rapper Kanye West jumped into Swan Lake and “tried to walk on water,” as Reuters put it. Fans rushed in after him, and the event ended with the musician being pulled out of the water by police and his security team.

West’s family has been touring the country over the past few days, as his wife, reality TV phenomenon Kim Kardashian, has Armenian ancestors. The couple, along with sister Khloe and their two cousins, met the country’s prime minister Hovik Abrahamyan and recently visited the memorial in Yerevan to the 1.5 million Armenians killed by Ottoman Turks to commemorate the conflict’s upcoming 100th anniversary.
