Many were angry with the Academy. However, Joan’s daughter, Melissa Rivers, doesn’t seem to share that anger. Following Sunday’s show, Melissa has posted a statement on her mother’s [official Facebook page](https://www.facebook.com/joanrivers/posts/10152801239368040 "undefined"). It reads, “It would have been nice, especially considering the impact she had on the awards season, but Cooper and I have been overwhelmed with support and love over my mom’s passing and we choose to focus on that.” Cooper is Melissa’s son.
