Swift previously spent eleven weeks in the top spot with her second album _Fearless_ in 2008 and 2009, [Billboard reports](http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6458389/taylor-swift-1989-milestone-10th-week-no-1 "undefined").
