When George Clooney received the Cecil B. DeMille Award for achievement at the Golden Globes Sunday night, Hollywood’s long-time most eligible bachelor thanked his new wife. “It’s a humbling thing when you find someone to love. Even better if you’ve been waiting your whole life. And when your whole life is 53 years…” he began. “Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn’t be more proud to be your husband.”

Clooney, who also wore a Je Suis Charlie pin in solidarity with the journalists killed at Charlie Hebdo in Paris, dedicated his award to those marching in Paris for freedom of speech.
