New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s is catching heat for his enthusiastic support of the Dallas Cowboys.
Television cameras captured Christie, a longtime Cowboys fan, gleefully hugging team owner Jerry Jones after the squad came back to win their first-round playoff game Sunday. The mockery of the 2016 presidential hopeful began immediately.
But Christie’s supporters didn’t take the criticism lying down. His brother Todd dismissed the critics “who have their panties in a ringer” with a post on his Facebook page.
“GET A LIFE !!!” he wrote. “The Gov has been a Cowboys fan for his entire life and ALL of you would sit with the owner of your favorite team in a heartbeat if given the chance.”
