HBO alum Ashley Hinshaw and singer/former heart-throb Rick Springfield have both been cast for the upcoming second season of True Detective.
Deadline reports that the True Blood actress has landed a role on the show, appearing as a “troubled starlet” on the anthology crime drama. Meanwhile, the Hollywood Reporter reveals that Springfield will also appear on the show, though in what role and for how long is unclear.
Hinshaw and Springfield will join Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams, who are all playing cops, and Vince Vaughn, playing a career criminal. Details about the upcoming storyline have been murky — and occasionally misleading — but the season will deal with murder, corruption and conspiracy in California.
