It seems like [just about everyone](http://time.com/3615803/star-wars-episode-vii-force-awakens-trailer/) has watched the trailer for J.J. Abrams’ new interpretation of _Star Wars_, which has been viewed over [45 million times on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMOVFvcNfvE) since its late November [release](http://time.com/3609599/starwars7-starwars-the-force-awakens/). Well, everyone except original _Star Wars_ creator George Lucas.

When the [New York _Post_](http://pagesix.com/2014/12/07/george-lucas-hasnt-seen-new-star-wars-trailer/?%5Fga=1.38833251.1527493446.1401240875) asked Lucas what he thought of the trailer, the famed director responded: “I don’t know anything about it. I haven’t seen it yet.”

And he isn’t planning on watching it, “Because it’s not in the movie theater,” he explained. “I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there. I plan to see it when its released.”
