Read TIME’s interview with Charli XCX.
It’s a few days too late for the Turkey Drop — when college freshman dump their long-distance high school sweethearts upon returning home for the holidays — but Charli XCX just shared the new music video for this season’s feistiest breakup anthem.
The “Boom Clap” singer is evidently done with being sweet on “Breaking Up,” the latest track from her punk rock-inspired sophomore album, Sucker. In the video, which premiered on BuzzFeed, she delivers a blunt kiss-off to a tattooed ex-lover with few redeeming qualities: “Hate your friends and your family too / So breaking up was easy to do.” Watch the 1960s-inspired clip above, which features pop music’s best key change since the last third of “Love on Top.”
