Now and then in the history of sports there’s a singular moment that leaves fans awestruck and speechless all at once: a Hail Mary pass for the national championship, a half court shot in the last seconds of the series, a last at bat for one of the most beloved players in the history of baseball.

Derek Jeter’s game-winning final swing from home plate at Yankee Stadium Thursday night, closing out a two-decade career that endeared him to baseball fans across the country, was one such moment.

But if we were left speechless, we weren’t left tweetless, and thank goodness, because some of last nights Jeter tweets were priceless. Here are 12 of the best:
