Ghostbusters III will reportedly star a female ensemble, and Ghostbusters veteran Bill Murray has some ideas on who those leading ladies should be.
Though Murray won’t star in the movie himself, he suggested a few candidates in an interview with the Toronto Star.
“Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny — God, she’s funny!” he said. “I like this girl Linda Cardellini a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.”
That cast would bring a lot of comedic talent to the movie: McCarthy and Wiig worked together in Bridesmaids; Cardellini, of Freaks and Geeks fame, recently guest starred on New Girl and Mad Men; and though she has taken on more dramatic roles of late, Stone got her start as a comedienne in Easy A and Superbad.
Bridesmaids director Paul Feig is reportedly in negotiations to direct the sequel.
