The [_TODAY_](http://www.today.com/entertainment/allison-williams-peter-pan-see-first-photo-1D80122946 "undefined") show shared on Twitter the first photo of the _Girls_ star in costume for her role as the boy who wouldn’t grow up. Williams, 26, was cast as the lead in NBC’s upcoming live television production of _Peter Pan_ due to be broadcast Dec. 4, a role she has said she’s been wanting to play since she was “[about three years old](http://time.com/3057698/allison-williams-peter-pan-nbc-musical/ "undefined").” The first image from the musical shows Williams in the classic Peter costume, complete with green vest and short hair: > [](https://twitter.com/TODAYshow/status/507140537397547010) Of her hairstyle, the actress wrote on Instagram, “Fun fact: I was all ready to cut my hair, then was told by the folks who actually know what they’re doing that a wig works better for everybody.” In addition to the wig, Williams has been learning the ropes for all the on-stage flying she’ll be doing. The telecast of _Peter Plan Live!_ was planned following the success of last year’s live production of _The Sound of Music_, starring Carrie Underwood.
