The campaign was created to raise money to produce a soundtrack and special effects for the film, directed by the Emmy Award-winning director Dana Nachman. She's was [00:33] diagnose in April and that's when we start rolling and [00:35] get in busy planting. The whole town came together [00:39] and all other farmers chipped- in [ MUSIC ] One [00:49] of his doctors told us that with his disease they just [00:51] become like a fighter, you know, they have to be. They [00:53] fight for life and so I think he sees the good versus evil [00:57] battle in super heroes and just relates to it. [01:04] [ MUSIC ] [01:09] We waited until the end of treatment. He was almost [01:12] finished to make his wish. When [01:18] we're going about doing a wish, it is whimsical. And [01:21] thinking about what would wow that child, give them an [01:23] experience. That gives them a little bit of their [01:26] childhood back that's been robbed. So we decided to [01:28] turn San Francisco into Gotham City. The city [01:36] is expecting thousands of people to participate. [01:39] There's panic at every turn or every phone call going, [01:41] who's calling? Adam West on line one. Okay. Right. [01:46] That's normal. [ LAUGH ] [01:49] [ MUSIC ] [01:51] [ NOISE ] [01:53] The scale of this production. It's huge. It's remarkable. [01:56] The [01:58] adventure has become an internet craze and the [02:01] Tweets are non- stop. What [02:05] did we get ourselves into. I'm like, okay well [02:10] he needs a car seat because there are a lot of cops [02:13] around. People [02:15] were [02:18] going [02:20] nuts. [02:22] I mean seriously, it was, like ,. Like just Brad Pitt just [02:24] walk out I was like, why, there he is! [ MUSIC ] She gave [02:34] everybody license to just be a little absurd, a little [02:38] ridiculous, lift their little dreams for a little bit, [02:40] [ MUSIC ] One [02:45] thing that struck me was how many people were [02:47] holding up signs saying, save us Batkid. And I looked [02:51] at those signs and I thought, you mean that literally. In [02:55] helping him to live this dream we were saving [02:58] ourselves. We wonder why we're not happy [03:02] alone at the time. And it's because we forget the sort [03:04] of.
