The 33-year-old actor lost 20 pounds for the role. Gyllenhall plays a TV crime reporter who is the first on the scene of car crashes and murders to catch footage for the news. It’s not long before Gyllenhall takes things too far and is slamming his hands against a mirror and crying out. “My motto is, if you want to win the lottery, you have to make the money to buy the ticket,” Gyllenhall’s character Lou Bloom says in the trailer. Eek.
