Kristian Nairn, the actor who plays Hodor on the HBO show, is gearing up for a DJ-tour around Australia, which has been appropriately dubbed “Rave of Thrones.” The tour — which will see Nairn playing gigs in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, Darwin and Adelaide — sounds like it will be exactly what fans of the HBO series are looking for in between seasons. The [_Guardian_](http://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/jul/15/game-of-thrones-kristian-nairn-rave-of-thrones-australia-dj-tour)[ reports](http://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/jul/15/game-of-thrones-kristian-nairn-rave-of-thrones-australia-dj-tour) that the gig venues will be transformed with Westeros-like decor and, like most _GOT_ festivities, there will be plenty of surprise guests. What’s more, audience members are expected to show up in full _GOT_ regalia. The audience can also expect a good show from Nairn, as the Northern Irish actor spent more than a decade as a resident DJ in Belfast’s Kremlin club before being cast on the world-famous show. As the tour’s website promises that, “Unlike the Red Wedding, these soirees will be remembered for seasons to come for all the right reasons.” \[[_Guardian_](http://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/jul/15/game-of-thrones-kristian-nairn-rave-of-thrones-australia-dj-tour)\] ## Transcript [00:00] For your late night highlight, what Game of Thrones star [00:03] hasn't even read the books? A confession on The Late [00:07] Show. I haven't read the books that it's based on, and [00:11] George Martin, our, our author, is probably going to kill my [00:13] character soon because I've mentioned that. I, I, I started to [00:17] read it, and I got confused so. Yikes, as [00:22] much as Peter Dinkalage's character is beloved by fans, [00:26] the getting killed off fear is very real for Game of Thrones, [00:30] last season's Red Wedding episode infamously proved [00:34] that. Season four is set to premiere April 6th, so for [00:38] those of us who haven't read the books we'll have to see [00:41] what happens. Though there could be hope, Martin recently [00:45] told the Hollywood Reporter there might be movies, not just [00:48] the show, based on the books. Movies would mean at least [00:51] somebody has to survive. Right? Thanks for watching. I'm [00:55] Lauren Zima. ```json [{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"NewsArticle","@id":"https://time.com/2991322/game-of-thrones-dj-tour-hodor/","mainEntityOfPage":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://time.com/2991322/game-of-thrones-dj-tour-hodor/"},"headline":"Hodor From Game of Thrones Launches Thrones-Themed DJ Tour","datePublished":"2014-07-16T11:27:48.000Z","dateModified":"2026-08-04T08:01:06.854Z","description":"Tour has inevitably been dubbed \"Rave of Thrones\"","url":"https://time.com/2991322/game-of-thrones-dj-tour-hodor/","keywords":["Television","game of thrones","Music","DJ"],"thumbnailUrl":"https://static.time.com/v3/assets/bltea6093859af6183b/blt6027da4a1d86c8f5/69869be1361760af8990d11d/450945072.jpg?branch=production&width=1200&quality=75&auto=webp&crop=1200:675&height=675","author":[{"@type":"Person","name":"Megan Gibson","jobTitle":null,"url":"https://time.com/author/megan-gibson/"}],"articleSection":"Entertainment","image":[{"@type":"ImageObject","url":"https://static.time.com/v3/assets/bltea6093859af6183b/blt6027da4a1d86c8f5/69869be1361760af8990d11d/450945072.jpg?branch=production&width=1200&quality=75&auto=webp&crop=1200:675&height=675","width":1200,"height":675,"headline":"Opening of the Moscow International Film Festival","caption":"Opening of the Moscow International Film Festival","creditText":"Kommersant Photo--Kommersant via Getty Images","representativeOfPage":true}],"publisher":{"@type":"Organization","name":"Time","url":"https://time.com/","logo":{"@type":"ImageObject","url":"https://time.com/images/logo.png","width":528,"height":156},"foundingDate":"March 3, 1923","sameAs":["https://www.facebook.com/time","https://www.instagram.com/time/?hl=en","https://twitter.com/time","https://www.pinterest.com/timemagazine"]}},{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"BreadcrumbList","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"item":{"@id":"https://time.com/section/entertainment/","name":"Entertainment"}},{"@type":"ListItem","position":2,"item":{"@id":"https://time.com/2991322/game-of-thrones-dj-tour-hodor/","name":"Hodor From Game of Thrones Launches Thrones-Themed DJ Tour"}}]},{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"VideoObject","name":"Which 'Game of Thrones' Star Has Never Read The Books?","description":"Peter Dinklage plays fan favorite Tyrion Lannister on the HBO show, but he confessed to David Letterman he's never read the book series the show is based on, and that makes him a little scared.","thumbnailUrl":"https://cdn.jwplayer.com/v2/media/7HHwG0M6/poster.jpg?width=720","uploadDate":"2014-03-27T11:18:23.000Z","contentUrl":"https://cdn.jwplayer.com/manifests/7HHwG0M6.m3u8","embedUrl":"https://time.com/2991322/game-of-thrones-dj-tour-hodor/","duration":"PT56S","potentialAction":{"@type":"SeekToAction","target":"https://time.com/2991322/game-of-thrones-dj-tour-hodor/?jw_start={seek_to_second_number}","startOffset-input":"required name=seek_to_second_number"}}] ```
