When actor LeVar Burton launched a Kickstarter campaign to revive the classic children’s TV series Reading Rainbow, he soared past his goal of $1 million in less than 24 hours.
Now, he has set a new goal — $5 million — and has added some fun new incentives to get you to donate your money. He’s enlisted his fellow Star Trek actors to perform a series of live storytelling events. Depending on how much you pledge, you can attend one of these events yourself.
Perhaps the most exciting news here: If you pledge $1,200 or more, you’ll get three tickets to see William Shatner himself perform at a live event in Los Angeles. If you pledge $1,700 or more, you get to MEET and HANG OUT with Shatner. Other notables lending their star power to the cause include Kate Mulgrew (currently on Orange Is the New Black), Marina Sirtis, Jonathan Frakes and Robert Picardo.
Oh, and don’t forget about Sir Patrick Stewart, who will also join a live event in New York City. (Sir Patrick Stewart!!!!)
