A kindergarten girl in upstate New York spent the day at the wrong school Wednesday, district officials confirm to the Associated Press.
Janeya Nevins, 5, accidentally got on the wrong school bus and was dropped off at Yates Elementary School instead of Howe Elementary School, which she attends.
In fact, Yates was expecting a new first grader, so teachers called Nevins by that person’s name all day long. News Channel 13 reports, “She even wrote the other student’s name on papers throughout the day.”
The mix-up was not realized until Howe Elementary called her mother Patricia Rodriguez and said her daughter had not been in school that day.
