1 minute read

Dallas Stars center Rich Peverley collapsed on his team’s bench during the first period of play against the Columbus Blue Jackets Monday evening. Peverley was quickly rushed off the ice and taken to a local hospital where he was successfully treated for what a doctor called “a cardiac event.”

Peverley is now in stable condition, per a National Hockey League statement. A video of the game broadcast shows Peverley being taken away from the bench after play was stopped and his on-ice teammates rushed to investigate the situation:

The rest of the Stars-Jackets game was postponed in light of the incident.
