Marcia Wallace, who gave voice to the schoolteacher Mrs. Krabappel on The Simpsons, died from breast cancer at the age of 70. Last night, the show honored Mrs. Krabappel in a brief epilogue. The show will retire the character, who was known for her derisive laugh and frustrated love life — at least until Season 23, when she married widower Ned Flanders.
