On Tuesday, Terry Shipman, [a small-business owner](http://mashable.com/2014/03/05/terry-shipman-selfie-record/ "undefined") from Beaumont, Texas, posted a selfie to Twitter with his two dogs, adding, “Let’s see if we can beat the Oscar re-tweets!” But while Ellen has garnered more than 3 million retweets, Shipman’s current tally is just over 138,000\.
