St. Thomas Aquinas College

Sparkill, NYwww.stac.edu
Founded in 1952, St. Thomas Aquinas is home to about 2,200 undergrads. Students at the private liberal arts school, located 15 miles north of New York City, are required to take a broad foundation of liberal arts courses. Popular majors include sports management, criminal justice, and business administration. The college also offers five cooperative programs with nearby colleges, allowing students to earn dual degrees in fields such as biomedical engineering and physical therapy. The college is considered a commuter school, as most students live off campus. But there are still plenty of campus events and activities. There are more than 40 clubs, and many of the students are on one of the school's about 20 Division II sports teams. Annual campus-wide events include Oktoberfest and Springfest, which feature a variety of carnival activities on campus. The college's graduation rate is an impressive 30% higher than expected based on the academic and economic backgrounds of its student body.
