According to The Flight Deal, travelers based in Washington, D.C., Boston, and the New York City metro area (either John F. Kennedy International Airport or Newark Liberty International Airport) can take advantage of these cheap fares.
While travelers can choose to skip the extended layover in Reykjavik, Icelandair’s complimentary stopover program makes it easy and affordable to see two countries for the price of one. Simply book a multi-city itinerary with your preferred stopover dates built in. For example:
Depart Washington, D.C. to Paris on September 30, and return to Washington, D.C. by way of Reykjavik, Iceland on October 5. Leave Reykjavik on October 9. The cost of this trip is a cool $350.
Flights from New York City have been found for $353, with Boston-based itineraries costing approximately $360.
Note that in addition to the seven-day limit on your trip to Iceland, the duration of your stopover typically cannot exceed the length of your stay in Paris.
The Flight Deal recommends waiting no more than two days to book this deal, as the low fares will likely sell out quick.
