As wedding season gets rolling, MONEY takes a look at what a wedding really costs the bride, the groom, their families, and their friends. Brides and their bridesmaids will spend more money than the groom and the groomsmen on the dresses and the bachelorette party. The happy couple pays for about 43% of the wedding’s cost. The bride’s parents will cover another 43%, and the groom’s mom and dad will cover about 12%.

We polled our readers and found that 20% think a wedding costs at least $10,000 and that 12% think that a wedding costs over $25,000.

So what does a standard wedding really cost? Somewhere between $11,000 and $30,000.

Better start saving.
