Will Saletan’s Twitter bio advertises that “When people say ‘Don’t go there,’ I go there,” and he has the battered passport to prove it. The Slate columnist regularly dives headfirst into uncomfortable subjects, and his Twitter feed is an extension of that pluck. In just the past several weeks, he’s tweeted on topics as diverse as low-flow toilets, Ukraine, anti-Semitism and butt-dialing. Behind the variety is a moral compass that it both wise and unpredictable. —Chris Wilson
