Sundays should feel a trifle less remote if you need your Amazon fix before the week starts.
Amazon announced Thursday that it’s adding 15 new cities to its embryonic Sunday delivery program, reports USA Today. That program, which launched last November, allows Amazon Prime members ($99 a year) who select qualifying items (“millions,” says Amazon) by the end of the week to receive those items via U.S. Postal Service delivery as early as Sunday. Customers will know a product qualifies if the Sunday shipping option appears at checkout, and the shipping cost for Prime members is $0 if they order by Friday and select two-day shipping.
“So far, the most common items delivered on Sunday include baby supplies such as newborn apparel, books and toys — Sunday delivery is clearly crossing errands off the weekend to-do list,” said Amazon VP of North America operations, Mike Roth.
The new locations: Austin, Cincinnati, College Station, Columbus, Dallas, Houston, Indianapolis, Lexington, Louisville, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Shreveport and Waco. Amazon said it plans to add additional cities by year’s end.
