An ex-NYPD officer was cuffed and booked in the early hours of Sunday morning, after allegedly spending Saturday night scrawling swastikas and anti-Semitic profanities on 15 vehicles and four buildings in Brooklyn’s Borough Park.
The former cop, Michael Setiawan, who left the force in 2007, now faces charges of criminal mischief and aggravated harassment as hate crimes, according to the Associated Press.
State assemblyman Dov Hikind, who represents the area, railed against the 36-year-old’s actions in a neighborhood home to “many Holocaust survivors.”
“Hate attacks on our community will not go unpunished,” said Hikind. Setiawan was set to be arraigned by authorities on late Sunday or Monday.
