LIZ Teams Up With Pharrell Williams For “That’s My Man”

Mad Decent

There's a new frontrunner in the race for song of the summer

One summer blockbuster deserves another. Soon-to-be chart topper LIZ has teamed up with Pharrell Williams for “That’s My Man,” her contribution to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack — and it’s a firecracker deserves to be in heavy rotation this summer.

Pharrell produced the track, and it’s as funk-focused as his mega-hit “Happy” while drawing on many of the same influences heard in his G I R L album. The funky vibe pairs well with LIZ’s shimmery vocals and sweetly sultry voice; the power pop duo seem to bring out the best in each other.

“Pharrell just oozes cool and is so incredibly supportive and down for me,” LIZ told BuzzFeed. “He and I plan on doing more work together very soon.” And that is good news for everybody.

Pharrell has been keeping himself busy with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack. Not only did he work with Alicia Keys on the track “It’s On Again”, but he also contributed his own song, “Here.” If that’s not enough Pharrell for you (and as a society, we have not reached maximum Pharrell yet), he also co-wrote the film’s score with Hans Zimmer and The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr.
