But the [Duchess of Sussex](http://time.com/5062929/meghan-markle-fashion-photos/) took the experience one step further: many of the flowers used to decorate the event to celebrate [her royal baby](http://time.com/5445288/meghan-markle-baby-news/) were then donated to charities, as attendee Gayle King [confirmed on CBS.](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/meghan-markles-baby-shower-gayle-king-shares-details-repeat-roses/?fbclid=IwAR1acZpUICWLHJTF6T4ORPuw2u4ibR-HSy7mto12BN4mc%5FAd28jUo2lSQ8o) “I thought that was a very sweet thing,” King said of Markle’s request to donate the flowers. “I mean it just speaks to who she is. She’s very kind. She’s very generous, and a really, really sweet person,” she added. King was just one of many celebrities to attend the party at Manhattan’s Mark Hotel, including [Amal Clooney](http://time.com/5409525/amal-clooney-aung-san-suu-kyi-myanmar-journalists/) and [Serena Williams](http://time.com/5404581/serena-williams-on-meghan-markle/) — both of whom also were at her [May nuptials](http://time.com/5260934/royal-wedding-diana-tribute/) to Prince Harry in England last year. As for the flowers? [PEOPLE reports](https://people.com/royals/meghan-markle-donates-baby-shower-flowers-charity/) that Markle looked to a company called [Repeat Roses](http://www.repeatroses.com/), which helped distribute the florals to locations including Ronald McDonald House Charities of New York, Hope Lodge and Unique People Services, each of which serve patients in need of care.
