The rally was held in front of the federal courthouse in Fort Lauderdale, about 25 miles from Parkland’s [Marjory Stoneman Douglas High Schoo](http://time.com/5158804/marjory-stoneman-douglas-high-school-shooting/)l, where [17 people died in Wednesday’s shooting](http://time.com/5162936/florida-high-school-shooting-timeline/).
