Miley Cyrus Gets “High” With an Unlikely Arctic Monkeys Cover: Watch It

The twerk-happy songstress covered the indie rockers' "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?"

Miley Cyrus’ recent MTV Unplugged special was a thing of head-scratching greatness, as she stripped away the high gloss of songs like “We Can’t Stop” and “Wrecking Ball” and transformed her slick pop smashes into odd, rootsy alt-country ditties. Previously unreleased footage from that special shows Cyrus tackling a cover that’s unlikelier still: British indie rock band Arctic Monkeys’ biting 2013 single “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High.”

It’s a funny choice, given Cyrus’ well-documented affinity for cannabis culture — but her raspy, tangy vocals and energetic showmanship serve as very good reasons to overlook the mixed messages.
