Jack White Aims To Set World’s Fastest Record Record

1 minute read

Jack White hopes to make the Guinness Book of World Records by making a record in record fast time. The record will be recorded and sold, studio-to-store, on April 19 to celebrate Record Store Day. The whole ordeal will stretch from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. if all goes according to plan.

White will record in Third Man’s bule room in its Nashville studio to record a direct-to-acetate record in a limited edition version of his next single for his upcoming LP Lazaretto. The masters will then be run to United Record Pressing. The finished record will then be taken back to Third Man to sell to awaiting fans, the Hollywood Reporter reports.

Michigan band Whirlwind Heat will also play their first live show since 2006 at Third Man that day. Those who buy “ultra tickets” for the day will get to see Jack White’s live recording, receive copies of the record-breaking record, and see Whirlwind Heat play.
