Hillary Clinton made a bold fashion statement recently when she traded in her signature pantsuit for a leather jacket at the Professional Businesswomen of California conference. This week, Clinton supported her friend, pop-star Katy Perry, by wearing one of Perry’s shoes from her collection. The footwear, appropriately, is called The Hillary.
Clinton endorsed the heels by posing for a photo, which Perry posted on Instagram. In her caption, the singer wrote, “@HillaryClinton is wearing #TheHillary (OMG I LOVE HER SO MUCH).” The photo has amassed over 311,099 likes in just one day. The suede pumps with lucite heels come in two colors — pink and seafoam green — and cost $139.
This isn’t the first time Perry has shown her love for Clinton on social media. In December, Clinton surprised Perry by presenting her with the UNICEF Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award. After that, Perry posted an homage to Clinton on Instagram, calling her “my hero.”
