Kim Kardashian: ‘I Took a Tragic Horrific Experience and Did Not Let It Diminish Me’

2 minute read

Kim Kardashian West isn’t finished opening up about her October Paris robbery.

The 36-year-old reality star posted a pair of powerful messages on Twitter on Sunday after fans watched her tearfully recall the life-changing attack in the latest episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

“I took a tragic horrific experience and did not let it diminish me, rather grew and evolved and allowed the experience to teach me,” the mom of two tweeted to her more than 50 million followers.

On Oct. 3, 2016, masked men entered her No Address Hotel room during Paris Fashion Week and tied her up before taking off with millions of dollars worth of jewelry.

“I can say I’ve become so much better because of it …. thank you for allowing me to share my story tonight #KUWTK,” Kardashian West wrote in a follow-up tweet.

During the show, Kardashian West spoke through tears as she recounted the terrifying ordeal to sisters Khloé and Kourtney. She revealed that at one point she thought the robbers were going to rape and kill her.

“He grabbed my legs — I had no clothes on under there — and he pulled me towards him at the front of the bed and I thought, ‘Okay, this is the moment he’s going to rape me,’ ” she said during her interview.

“I fully mentally prepped myself and he didn’t. He duct taped my legs together and then they had the gun up to me, I knew that was the moment they were totally going to shoot me in the head.”

In January, French police charged 10 people in connection with the robbery. Several weeks later, French newspaper Le Monde released excerpts of police testimony with suspect Aomar Ait Kihedache in which he allegedly confessed to the crime, calling it a “very simple affair.”

Keeping Up with the Kardashians airs Sundays (9 p.m. ET) on E!
