Ivanka Trump’s Jewelry Brand Allegedly Owes $5,000 in Back Taxes

1 minute read

Ivanka Trump‘s jewelry company allegedly owes over $5,000 in back taxes, the New York Daily News reports.

According to a warrant filed by the New York Department of State on Jan. 27, Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry owes $5,165.06 in unpaid taxes. The brand, which Trump took a formal leave of absence from ahead of her father’s inauguration, did not immediately respond to Motto‘s request for comment about the tax warrant.

The jewelry line sells rings, bracelets, necklaces and pendants that cost up to $15,000. The luxury jewelry label came under fire after the election when the company promoted a $10,800 bracelet that Trump wore for an interview on 60 Minutes with her father, then President-elect Donald Trump.

In recent weeks, Trump’s eponymous companies have come under increased scrutiny — even though the first daughter is no longer involved in their operations. Some retailers, such as Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus, have also stopped selling her clothing line and merchandise reportedly due in part to low sales. Trump critics have also put pressure on retailers to drop her merchandise because of her father’s comments about women.
