About 50,000 residents of the Pacific islands lost Internet access in 2015 when their sole undersea cable was cut. Even government websites in the U.S. insular area went offline.
JERSEY, U.K.
The British island’s three main undersea cables were accidentally severed by a ship’s anchor in November, with many people reporting a total loss of Internet or drastically slow speeds.
