Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg has never kept a New Year’s resolution—at least, until now.
During a Facebook Live event with CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Sandberg said she decided to write down three moments of joy each day in a notebook—a resolution she made for herself in January and kept through the whole year.
“This is the first year I have ever kept a New Year’s resolution,” she said.
To Sandberg, joy is different from gratitude—meaning that the moments she recorded in her notebook were ones “just to notice the times when things were good,” she said.
Sandberg’s commitment this year was especially poignant, considering she lost her husband, Dave Goldberg, unexpectedly in 2015.
